A Morgan Stanley Smith Barney regional manager is set to leave the firm.

Jimmy Tighe, who manages advisors in the New York City region, is departing to pursue a different post, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Tighe may joined Bank of America- Merrill Lynch.

Before the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney joint venture, he worked at Citigroup for 16 years.

This news follows the exit of the Strata Group of advisors in Rye, N.Y., who left Morgan Stanley earlier this week with some $500 million in assets under management to join HighTower Advisors.
